for Malala

Malala Yousafzai, 14, a symbol of defiance and an advocate for the education of girls in Pakistan’s Swat Valley, was shot in the head and neck on Tuesday, 10/10/12, by masked Taliban gunmen.

Think carefully
before you willingly give up a right
that was won by someone
who had the courage to stand up
and say
This is wrong

  1. This is a powerful statement, Sarah, one I entirely adher to. Too often people take those things for granted that were so courageously fought for – so much sacraficed for. I had shivers as I read this and once again thought of the bravery of that little girl. I heard today that she is making some hopeful progress recovering in a British hospital. I am sure that the worldwide prayers for her are helping.

  2. Diane,

Yes! They had a new picture of her on the evening news. Taken today it showed her
awake and alert. That is so encouraging.

She should still be enjoying her childhood, but never again.

    Thanks for visiting this one!
