Ninety degrees –
I’m not complaining.
Of course, being human,
I’d like it better if the humidity
were a little lower,
the wind less indifferent,
Who am I kidding?
It’s almost non-existent
but I’m not one to complain
about too much sun,
Well, maybe sometime,
every now and then but today
I’m diving into my screensaver,
an aquarium or maybe it’s the Atlantic
under glass.
The water’s blue and clear,
brightly colored bits of coral here and there,
A dolphin ferries me around the rocks
and reefs, I trade my lungs for gills
and decide to summer here
in my screensaver
where peace is more
than a momentary cease fire.
